Futures Announces Establishment of The Mary and Don Mackowski Kids Fund
New endowment honors a legacy of compassion, opportunity, and community impact
Futures is proud to announce the creation of a new named endowment fund, The Mary and Don Mackowski Kids Fund, established in honor of Mary and Don Mackowski and their enduring commitment to supporting others.
The Mackowski family has long championed the belief that every human life is a gift and that all individuals deserve respect and the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. This guiding philosophy shaped both their personal and professional lives and continues to influence generations of their family.
Mary Mackowski served as Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Assistance, where she worked closely with Futures’ Board of Directors. During her tenure, she developed a strong professional and personal relationship with Futures’ former Executive Director, Mary Rae.
The family’s connection to Futures and the Bradford community spans four generations. Denise (Mackowski) Jadlowiec, daughter of Mary and Don, dedicated 23 years as a special education aide in the Bradford Area School District. Many of her former students are now active participants at Futures. Her husband, Representative Kenneth Jadlowiec, also contributed to Futures through his service as a board member from the mid-1980s through 2002.
The Mackowski family’s legacy is deeply rooted in service to others, particularly the most vulnerable members of our community. This fund ensures that their values will continue to inspire and support Futures’ mission for generations to come.
Proceeds from the Mary and Don Mackowski Kids Fund will support Futures’ annual Mary Rae Day celebration, held each year on Flag Day in honor of Mrs. Rae’s birthday. This special event commemorates her lasting contributions and achievements, bringing the community together in celebration of her impact on Futures.
